Groove Phi Groove, Social Fellowship, Inc. established its legacy at Bowie State University in 1967 with the founding of Bulldog One Chapter, the first fraternal pledge organization formed on campus. The undergraduate chapter set a historic standard for fellowship, leadership, and service and has remained a respected presence at Bowie State University.
In 2003, alumni Fellowmen united to form the Prince George’s County Graduate Chapter to preserve that legacy and restore Groove Phi Groove’s campus presence after a period of inactivity. Through mentorship and active support, the graduate chapter played a key role in reactivating Bulldog One Chapter and strengthening ties between alumni and the university.
Together, the undergraduate and graduate chapters function as one unified fellowship, bridging generations and sustaining the mission and impact of Groove Phi Groove at Bowie State University and Prince George's County Maryland.

The Grooves are the 1st pledge organization to establish a fully funded Endowment at Bowie State University. The fund was established in 2017. It was a goal set we set to achieve as part of our 50th anniversary of being an organiazation on the campus of Bowie State University.
